Arnaldo Sampaio 2016 Award assigned to the GERIA Project - Geriatric Study in Portugal on Health Effects of Air Quality in Elderly Care Centers. The Portuguese Association for the Promotion of Public Health (APPSP), establishes the Arnaldo Sampaio Award in order to honor the memory of Professor Arnaldo Sampaio and encourage research in the field of public health. The Arnaldo Sampaio 2016 Award is sponsored by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. The prize award ceremony will take place during the V National Congress of Public Health, on February 16th at Porto. The recommendations of the GERIA Project are published in the project E-BOOK and on the DGS Website.

SEMINAR 'ACTIVE AGEING: SHAPING THE FUTURE' 11th DECEMBER 2012
This event took place last 11th of December 2012 at Rivoli Teatro Municipal in Porto.
The Seminar was organised by the Environmental Health Department of the Portuguese National Health Institute Dr. Ricardo Jorge and sponsored by Porto Social Foundation.
Multidisciplinary subjects about Active Ageing and Elderly Health and Education were discussed by a wide group of researchers from acknowledged Institutions.
GERIA PROJECT MEDIA PRESENTATION
II MEETING OF RESEARCHERS IN AGING
GERIA project principal researcher Dr. João Paulo Teixeira was invited to participate in the II Meeting of Researchers in Aging. This event took place at Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian on last April 18th, where several other projects about elderly and aging were presented. Congratulations to the organisers RUTIS - Senior Universities Network for approaching this subject and create a network of dialogue and knowledge exchange in this field.
